The AI fan in me!

WOW! That’s what I uttered when I saw Adam Lambert’s total performance last night on American Idol. He is just so amazing! Don’t you think he is ridiculously good? You could really tell that he is in this show for one reason only, and that is to WIN! In fact, that’s what Simon Cowell said after the performance and that Adam made a great entrance in the show ever.

I am also a fan of Kris Allen and Danny Gokey. They were also great last night! Who do you think will be voted out tonight? Will it be Matt Giraud or Allison Iraheta? Hmm, we will see…

love window shopping

glitters

WINDOW SHOP that is!

I like to shop especially when I can find a good deal! Finding good deals is just FUN! We had a sudden plan to go to Castle Rock Factory Outlets but then, we changed our minds because of the gusty winds. We went to the Cherry Creek Mall instead. We went to the Gymboree and GAP stores; and I grabbed a couple of stuff for my bug. I jokingly asked hubby that how come the little girl will always win every time we go to the mall, hehehe. When you become parents, your priorities in life absolutely changed. Good thing that I just love kids’ stores especially those two that I mentioned above. I always have fun checking them out especially their new stuffs and yes, the clearance racks, too.

I just can’t help but also checked out three fancy purses’ shops there. Oh my! Indeed, they are fancy. Take note, the prices of these purses are not reflected in the tags. You have to ask the store clerk to know them, imagine that! Hubby and I were like: “Holy Molly!” Well, it was fun though just browsing those fancy shops. I can’t help to wish that someday I can at least own one, after 10 years of blogging perhaps?

my birthstone, Amethyst

That is my birthstone AMETHYST. It is the birthstone of those who are born January 20 to February 18. It is a wonderful affordable gemstone and is wonderful in rings, necklaces, pendatns, earrings and bracelets. It is given as a symbol of sincerity, security and peace of mind. Engagement rings of Amethyst stones are becoming fairly popular as a symbol of everlasting love.

Here are some facts about Amethyst:

  • Gem stone is purple, lilac or mauve and the highest quality is transparent.
  • You can clean it in ultrasonic jewelry cleaner or with warm, soapy water and soft bristle brush.
  • This gem often becomes paler if kept out in the sun.
  • It could be heat treated to create Citrine.
  • Amethyst crystals are found in Brazil, Canada, India, Madagascar, Namibia, Russia, Sri Lanka and USA (Colorado, Georgia, Montana, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Virginia.)

I learned that this gemstone provides insight on ways to solve problems. It is said to increase intelligence and sprituality. Interesting right? Energy healers use it for the crown chakra. Some believe that wearing this gem with pearl and 14 kt gold sometimes can help resolve money issues. Now, it is getting more interesting. It is considered as the anniversary gemstone for the 4th and 6th year of marriage. Hmmm, that means another jewelry set of Amethyst will be coming for me in two years. Is that right, hubby? We will see… Have a magical Wednesday afternoon all!

where the river and the sea meet...

Isn’t this a paradise? Yes, that is how I describe Punta Beach of Malimono, Surigao del Norte – a real PARADISE! I have been in this beach many times and I just can’t get enough, neither does hubby. We just love it here that every time we are in Surigao del Norte, you can find us together with the whole clan in this beach. Though it isn’t sandy, but the smooth tiny pebbles of white, gray and black make this beach unique and totally one of a kind. Another feature which makes it different is the clear flowing river on the side. That is why Punta Beach is known to be a paradise where the river and the sea meet.

extreme jeeping fun!

That’s hubby in one of his most extreme jeeping escapades at Holy Cross City, Colorado. This trail is only accessible by specialized jeep and not by normal cars. Hubby build that jeep by himself. He was with three of his friends Eric, Kendra and Jeremy that time. He really loves this sport so much and he misses it, too.

Do you think this is fun? He took me jeeping a couple of times in simple trails when we still lived up in the mountains. Though they were just simple trails, it was already that exciting for me.

This sport spells FUN and EXCITEMENT! We are hoping that we can go jeeping again someday with God’s blessings. Have an exciting Saturday all!

where did spring go?

images

My, my, my, it’s a white zoo outside and there are cars already in the ditch. Hmmm, it’s going to be interesting when everybody’s on the road driving from work to go home. As it is big flakes of snow are still falling at the moment.

We just got back from my girl’s doctor’s appointment. As expected, my girl has ear infection and irritation in her throat. Dr. Campbell did not go on with the strep test since both will be treated with anti-biotic and he doesn’t want to make katiebug cry all the more. She cried when the good doctor tried to clean her left ear. Fortunately, the doctor did not hear and detect wheezing and pneumonia. Thanks gracious! So, she will be treated with anti-biotic for a good 10 days.

Hubby has to run back to work since he still has to finish a job at hand before weekend. After his work, we still have to go to Target to get bug’s medicines. Hopefully it will light up a bit by then. WOW! Where did spring go? Anyways, I wish all of us a wonderful and blessed weekend. Take care all and stay warm!

on the movie, The Ultimate Gift

I watched a movie titled, The Ultimate Gift this afternoon. This is the first movie that I have seen though our Netflix membership. We paid a monthly subscription of $15.00 for unlimited movies. Isn’t that cool? I kept bugging hubby about renting movies for me, that’s why he came up with this Netflix idea. This way we can save lots because it is cheaper compared to renting movies from the store.

Regarding the movie, The Ultimate Gift – it is a film based on a bestselling novel by Jim Stovall. Unfortunately, the film was not well attended during its released on March 2007, but the DVD sales were quite high though. It also received low ratings among movie reviewers but because of the philanthropic message and the twelve gifts leading to the ultimate gift that it portrayed, this movie still won the hearts of some viewing public.

Do you want to know what these twelve gifts are? Here you go…

  • The Gift of Work
  • The Gift of Problems
  • The Gift of Friends
  • The Gift of Giving
  • The Gift of Gratitude
  • The Gift of Family
  • The Gift of Learning
  • The Gift of Money
  • The Gift of Laughter
  • The Gift of a Day
  • The Gift of Dreams
  • The Gift of Love

Here is the movie’s synopsis! Read on…

The videotaped will of deceased billionaire Red Stevens (James Garner) includes the "ultimate gift" for his spoiled, sullen grandson Jason (Drew Fuller). A series of tasks meant to turn Jason from a hedonistic jerk into a compassionate human being is included in the will, but whether that's the gift or there's a fortune at the end of the rainbow is something Jason will just have to wait to find out. First, he's sent to Texas to work on the ranch of one of Red's old pals (Brian Dennehey). Then his trust fund is cut off and he's thrown into the streets where he battles a bum for a park bench and eventually makes friends with a young girl--dying of leukemia--named Emily (Abigail Breslin). There's some romantic bonding with Emily's struggling mom (Ali Hills) and danger down in Costa Rica, where Jason winds up hostage to some drug-running thugs. Bill Cobbs and Lee Meriwether are the lawyers who monitor Jason's progress. This is a nice little movie, with a straightforward spiritual agenda. But it gets everything right, with minimum sermonizing and maximum heart. The cast is clearly into the spirit of the matter: Abigail Breslin (LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE) radiates oddball charm, and the eyes of old pros Garner, Denehey, Meriwether, and Cobbs are alight with compassion and nobility.

for hubby who once upon a time was a FIREMAN...

A Fireman’s Prayer

When I am called to duty, God whenever flames may rage;
Give me strength to save some life, whatever be it’s age.
Help me embrace a little child before it is too late
Or save an older person from the horror of that fate.
Enable me to be alert and hear the weakest shout,
And quickly and efficiently to put the fire out.
I want to fill my calling and to give the best in me
To guard my every neighbor and protect his property.
And if, according to my fate, I am to lose my life,
Please bless me with your protecting of my children and my wife.

I got this from where else but at 321greetings.com. It made me remember when hubby was once a volunteer fireman for about 8 years. When I got here in the US, he was so active then in Kremmling Fire Department. He had to do training once a week and sometimes during weekends. My heart can’t help but did some somersaults with worry every time he was on call to car wrecks, accidents and fire especially in an unfriendly weather conditions. However, there was also pride and joy that glimmer every time him and other firemen saved a life and/or a property.

Hubby and his mates in action during a vehicular accident about 3 years ago.

When our little girl was born with all her medical problems, he had missed a lot of the department’s required training. That’s why he decided to put the whole fire department thing on hold for the moment. I know that as soon as we are all settled here in Denver with God’s blessings, he will be back on it in full force. THAT'S MY MAN – a loving and considerate husband, a doting father, a thoughtful son and brother, a world class technician, a trying-hard handy man, and a once-upon-a-time and hoping-to-get-back volunteer fireman…

have a glorious easter!

HALLELUJAH!

He is risen!

Let the Glory of the Lord rise among us!

Happy Easter everyone! It was so hard to get up this morning to attend the 9:00am Easter Sunday Mass. After a very late night last night, we dragged and tried to get to Saint Jude Catholic Church earlier but we were not that early enough. Yes, when we got there the church was packed full of people. We had no choice but to stand at the back during the whole service. The awesome choir with the orchestra, meaningful homily and the festive atmosphere made the Holy Mass so great all in all.

springy afternoon

As soon as hubby got home from work yesterday, me and my girl got to our sneakers immediately for our walk in the neighborhood. We followed the trails to the playground so our bug can play. The weather was so gorgeous that time though gray clouds started to appear in places.

Katiebug was having a ball running around the playground. She tried the swing for a bit and had her daddy push her. You can hear her squeals in delight. I just can’t help but to take a picture.

I can’t help but get scared for her every time she goes to the slides especially the highest one. She just loves it and her laughter echoing in the park says it all.

Yay, spring and summer are finally here in the Rockies! More outside time for us especially for the bug! It’s going to be FUN for sure. Have a happy Holy Week all!

way to go gilles and cheryl!

Have you seen Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke’s Pasa Doble performance from last night’s Dancing With The Stars! Oh my, it was really, really good. I thought it was better than their Argentine Tango last week. So, I was kind of disappointed with Len, one of the judges giving the couple only 9 and not the perfect 10.

I am really rooting for this couple because you can see how hard they practice on their dance routine. That’s why no wonder that they always come out with a well-executed and an outstanding performance every time they are on the stage. Do you notice that once they are on stage, you can’t help but hold your breath until their piece is over? As if there’s a magic spell that pulls you to the performance. I also think that they compliment each other and they have what we call, “perfect chemistry.” With every dance they present every week, it always come out awesome and breath-taking.

As what Carrie Ann, one of the judges said that: “what you two do that is so phenomenal is I feel like watching somebody take me to the core and the essence of the dance.” And I totally agree. How about you?

Check out their exceptional performance from last night Dancing With The Stars show:
