liking mac and cheese more...

I am so glad that my little girl is beginning to like mac and cheese these days. This is a big relief for me especially during lunch time. I don't have to cook a certain dish just for her come lunch time. I will just have to open a Velveeta box and viola, my little girl has instant lunch! Yay, makes mommy's life easier, hahaha! Honestly, pasta is always good for her especially that I have really been trying to put weight on her. I do hope that she will continue to like mac and cheese more and more.

Here in the area where we live, the trash is taken out twice a week. Tuesday is for recyclable stuffs and Friday is for the regular trash. This set-up has encouraged hubby and I to segregate our trash and to care for our Mother Earth. Well, not that we only show concern just now but I can say that we are really trying our best to care for our environment.

Like with the use of our office supplies especially paper, I always remind hubby to also use the back or the other side of the paper. This way we are not using that much paper, thus saving our trees. We also support those business organizations like dolphinblue.com which offers recyclable office supplies to minimize the use of our natural resources. Isn't this ideal of them? And I know if we do our own little way to be socially responsible for our environment, we will be in for a greener Mother Earth.

going to Dallas or not?

My husband will be having a training for his work in Dallas on Friday. He asked me if me and my bug would like to go with him. He's going to be there for two days - Thursday and Friday. I am having second thoughts in going because me and my girl will just be stuck in the hotel while he is on his training.

However, it will actually be better for my girl for us to tag along with hubby since Katiebug has been so clingy to her daddy these days. I told hubby about this as we talked on the phone this morning and he said that he will see what arrangements he can make. I am still unsure if we are going or not. I just wish we have some time to check out the city. What do you think, should we go or not? Well, I wish you all a lovely day. Have a good one!

marketing communications

My husband’s sister works for a large local oil company. One of the things that my husband wants to learn in the future is marketing communications. He asked his sister some information about how their company handles marketing with so many clients without getting it all lost along the way. She said that their company uses a system that handles all their calls, routes them to the proper place, and insures that no information or client gets ignored in the process.

It’s always like my husband to make a project out of finding out how things work. After some research and help from his sister, he found out that the system they are using at her work handles things like voice recording, high speed communications, networking marketing and it’s all done efficiently while saving the company money. The company they use also offers IP solutions, trade voice networking, a structured cable design and wireless solutions.

I know my husband really wants to learn how this all works. He has said that he wants to leave his career of fixing cars someday and design, install and maintain these newest marketing communications systems that make these companies so profitable. With the direction the future seems to be taking us, we can count on seeing more and more companies using these systems. That is what my husband is counting on so that he can find a future in this newest and most exciting field of work.

looks like flu season is here!

Hubby has been under the weather for the past couple of days. We believe he has the what we call stomach flu. Gee, he just got well from colds weeks ago and now this. It really freaks me out when a member in the family is sick. I can't help but really get worried. Well at least, he doesn't have cough or runny nose or anything.

Poor hubbypie, I truly hope and pray he gets well very soon. I just keep reminding him to take his medicines, vitamins and a lot of liquid; and to wash his hands now and then. One good thing of his being sick is he is losing weight, hahaha. But I am sure he will gain them back once he is well. Get well soon, hubbypie dear!

relearning piano

My husband used to play piano when he was younger. He has forgotten most of the piano chords he learned though. Now that we have a daughter who loves to always run around singing and playing her toy piano, he has considered learning piano again so that he can teach our daughter how to play. I wonder if after all these years is there a quicker and easier way for him to pick all those piano chords that he used to know without going back to the basics. Really what my husband would like to learn is how to play by ear and master some of his new favorite tunes on piano.

Finding the right course was difficult for him, but when we seen this website dedicated to the newest form of teaching piano at playpianotips.com, we became very interested in what its new method of learning piano was all about. With their method called piano improvisation, we believe we’ve found the cure to my husband's frustrations learning piano. Soon he will be playing those piano chords that he used to know. He is really looking forward to sharing what he'd learned with my daughter as she grows. Maybe she will really enjoy piano with her singing and grow up learning the art of music that she seems to enjoy so much at her young age.

I don't know but since we moved here in San Antonio, Texas I have really been missing the Philippines especially my hometowns. Yes, hometowns - Bislig City, Surigao del Sur and Malimono, Surigal del Norte I miss my family and friends. I keep thinking and wishing to visit my native land so much these days, but I am aware that this is just an impossible dream for now. I always tell hubby that I wish to go vacation in the Philippines next year and he will just say, he will see what he can do.

However, I know that we are in a difficult time right now financially speaking. So, I just keep on wishing for now. Who knows we can win the lottery pretty soon and then, we can have a grand vacation in the Philippines. But then, that is another wishful thinking since we don't even buy lottery tickets! Well, I just keep on hoping and praying for the best here and with God's blessings, everything will turn around.

hoping to have a friend here in San Antonio

I still have to find a friend here in San Antonio. This is one of the reasons why I had second thought relocating because that means I have to find new friends. When I was still in Denver, I gained a lot of friends there and until now, we are still keeping up each other with what's going on in our life at present. Well, I am just glad that most of my friends there are into blogging that I still can get in touch with them through blogs and of course, Facebook and Friendster.

Anyway, I just chatted with a Filipina on the phone which a friend in Denver had introduced to me. They knew each other while they were still working in Guam a few years ago. Arlyn and I have been talking on the phone now and then but we have not met in person yet because of our schedules. Hopefully, we can come up with something pretty soon. I really want to meet her especially that she is also from the same town where I grew up. Isn't that something? Oh boy, I really can't wait for the day...

Gee, it has been a while since I last blog hop. Please forgive the mess up in the blogosphere. I love the blogging world and the lessons gained when I hop from one blog after another. I enjoy doing this. I will not tell you why the long silence from me, my blogger friends. I know there is no excuse but I can still reconnect with you, right? Isn't this so true? As they say, just let go and let God; and for sure it would feel like a load of burden has been lifted off from your shoulders. This way, making a step forward would be easier. what a disappointment!

We went for a little drive to Austin today. Hubby and I checked an Asian Store that his workmate had recommended for us. We have been looking for a bigger Asian store here in San Antonio but so far no luck. Though there are a couple of Filipino stores here but they are small and don’t have meat section. I have been craving for a grilled bacon cut of pork for weeks now so we decided to check out the store in Austin.

The drive is about an hour and a half. Yes, it is far but we also decided to check out this city. I have heard a lot of good things about this city; that it is a beautiful place. When we got to the Asian Store, we were kind of disappointed because there’s nothing impressive about that place. It is big yes but the layout and the displays are all confusing. Though there was a huge selection of sea food but the meat section is kinda gross! I did see my pork bacon there but I didn’t get some. I did get some veggies and some fish. Hubby and I were like: “Oh, okay!”

We were there for just a bit then off we headed back home. Yes, we changed our minds to go gallavanting in Austin because all of a sudden I didn’t feel good. I missed to bring my camera, too so there’s no use to go sight seeing, hahahaha! I really didn’t feel good so we just headed back home. Anyway, we will go back there again pretty soon. From what I have seen, Austin is a beautiful city. It’s not as big and crowded as San Antonio but it is pretty very lush and green. I would love to check out that place again and hopefully, it will be soon.
