Cloth ghosts and the Family Tree

Guest post of the week by Ferdinand Livingston.

After my kids get out of school the Friday before Halloween we make cloth ghosts to hang outside in Nana's "family tree." The ghosts are made out white sheets, eye beads and permanent marker of course. The process begins when I bring an arm load of supplies to the coffee table in front of the TV along with a bowl of popcorn. I always let the kids pick a movie on the satellite TV that I got through one of the Cannon Satellite online deals to watch during craft time. It usually ends up being Rugrats, Cats and Dogs or The Fox and The Hound. The ghosts always seem to turn out beyond perfect! The girls ghost end up being painted pink or purple and the boys blue. After the children do their finishing touches we go outside and hang them on the lower branches of the tree. Once there hung we all sit on the front porch with a warm cup of coco and watch them as they sway back and forth in the wind. When the kids were younger they used to get scared looking out the window at night time. From what they say the ghosts would come to haunt them in there sleep!
