a joke that backfired

It was so funny when my brother-in-law suggested jokingly to buy a pink cooler with seat belt and wheels for Kate on her birthday. A Coleman cooler like that picture above by the way is my little girl's time out seat when she is misbehaving. I will make it clear here - top of a medium size Coleman cooler and not inside a cooler, okay? Well, my little girl finds it cool to sit in a pink cooler with a seat belt and wheels on it. We just laughed it off!

The problem is from that moment that she heard that silly suggestion, she would also say that she wants a pink cooler for her birthday. That every time we go to the store, she would always look for a pink cooler. Uh-uh, seems like the joke backfired on us, right? So, we are thinking of changing here time out seat for now. We don't know what it's going to be at this moment but for sure we can think of something. Hmm, it just means that you have to be careful of what you will say in front of children, right?

the bug is likin' it here in San Antonio!

Our daughter sure likes being here in San Antonio. She is playing real hard with her cousins here and getting her to stop and eat has been quite a chore. Her aunt and uncle here have so many toys that we are really wondering what she will play with next. What is even more worrisome is when we get home to our new place what will she do without all the toys. Will she be sad? We don’t think so. Even if a big move is hard, we are glad to be here in our new place and really glad our daughter seems to be adjusting well.

We can always look forward to visiting my brother and sister-in-law where their children are very close to our daughter’s age, she will have someone to grow up with that is in the family. Things will be hard for us at first but we are looking forward to our new home here and with God’s blessings, everything will be just great. I will always pray that my husband’s work will go well and we will be stable in our new location here in San Antonio, Texas.

San Antonio, Texas here we come!

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. (Deuteronomy 31:6)

Yeah, it’s official! We are moving to San Antonio, Texas this Sunday. Shock, are you? Don’t worry I was, too. It was like hubby just blurted if I am ready to pack one evening after work and the next day, he told me that we will move on the 18th of this month. Oh my! Don’t you think he is in such a hurry?

Well, as what I have told him that I will always support him in all his decisions. We had really been talking and weighing all the pros and cons about this for months; and since everything is pointing towards that direction for us, that why we came to the decision. So, Texas here we come!

I can’t help but have mixed emotions. I will be missing Rocky Mountain High. I’ve lived here for almost 5 years and this has been my second home away from my first home in the Philippines. I really love it here! The Colorado weather might be in extremes but I have learned to adapt and like it. I gain a lot of beautiful friends especially here in Denver. This truly makes me sad parting ways with them but I know they understand our reasons for relocating.

With hopes and prayers, everything will turn out great for us in Texas especially for my little girl. Having family (hubby’s sister) in San Antonio helps a lot in this big transition of our life. At least, Kate will have cousins to play with there. Of course, there are also uncertainties with this decision but with great FAITH in HIM, everything will be alright.

into wrist watches...

I never thought I would be doing this but I have really taken up an interest in watches lately. I think having a timepiece that states who you are in the styling and class is a statement of fashion. We all know most women like fashion and keeping up with the latest fads. I went on a search for the best website for luxury watches and came across one really good one.

I really like the Movado brand especially the picture above. The name really catches my interest and the watches live up to the stylish name with the reviews. I actually like all of them especially Tag Heuer and Cartier. Because these are such quality watches, I want to save up my extra money and buy a good one. I’ve always been interested in watches and really want my husband and daughter to enjoy them also.

I am going to be introducing my husband to these new watches when I receive the one I’ve been saving for. I’m sure he will approve and then he will ask “where is mine?” I'll save some of my extra money and really consider one as a gift for him very soon. I like my husband looking good and a nice watch will really add to that. Our daughter needs one soon but only when she gets a little older. I’m willing to bet we can find the perfect one for her; it’s just going to be interesting if we can find one to fit her tiny wrist.

sicky girl, again!

My little girl is sick again. We didn’t sleep good last night because she was so fussy and she was burning hot with fever. She always scares us with her fever because it usually reaches to 105 degrees Fahrenheit. So this morning, we decided to go to the doctor especially that she is complaining that her throat hurts.

We already planned to go to Kremmling today so we decided to drop by the doctor’s office in Silverthorne. This is actually the clinic where I used to work before. I was so happy to see my former workmate, Angela and we chatted for a bit. We were glad that Dr. George is on today and he found out that the bug has strep. After he has given us prescription for anti-biotic, off we continued our way here in Kremmling.

So, here we are in our home which we will not be able to see for a while or maybe will not see again should there be some lucky person who will buy it. We are glad that somebody will rent it for now and hubby is talking with the renters now for the lease contract. I truly hope that this will work out for the best. And I hope and pray that Katiebug will get well soon. Have a wonderful Saturday all!

to acknowledge nature...

When you wake up in the morning, do you feel refreshed and ready to greet the day? How do you celebrate the present moment and "live fresh" in your life? I have read one way to bring a sense of fresh newness into each day, hour, moment of your life is to:

"Acknowledge nature - take a walk or look out the window. Write something every day. Have a sensory experience of touching a flower, tree bark or a leaf. Put aside some pampering time each day to do something special for yourself. Smile at everyone you meet."

Let’s try it out, guys! I am sure it will perk up our day. Have a good one all!

May the blessing of light be upon you...

This is one of the Irish Blessing for Luck that I have stumbled upon here in the net. I want to share this with you and in the same way, wish all of you an Irish blessing on your way.

May the blessing of light be upon you,
Light on the outside,
Light on the inside.

With God's sunlight shining on you,
May your heart glow with warmth,
Like a turf fire
that welcomes friends and strangers alike.

May the light of the Lord shine from your eyes,
Like a candle in the window,
Welcoming the weary traveler.

God is really GREAT, right? Have a good one all!

hubby's fans!

We will be moving soon and it is really hot where we are going. Most of the homes have air-conditioning there but that really causes a very high energy bill. Where we live now is warm but what we have found out is that a ceiling fan helps move the air around keeping it cooler. Ceiling fans seem to be my husband favorite thing. I really know this because he has to always have it on at night in bed. So you know for sure, if the bed oom doesn’t have one, it will be soon.

That will be great as long as my husband picks a ceiling fan from a quality company like Hansen Wholesale Ceiling Fans. I was looking at their website and found they make the most modern and stylish ceiling fans like that of Casablanca ceiling fans available today. A few years ago we had to buy a ceiling fan and it took us all night to assemble it. Now the new fans they make are quick to assemble. Now hubby can put up more ceiling fans in less time. Cool air will be flowing all around the house and it will help keep our energy bill down.

I will help pick out the next fans for our home and hubby can assemble them. I’m sure our daughter will want to help. She is three and we need to make sure that the new fans we buy are easy to assemble because I’m sure my husband will have his hands full with our daughter's help. We will be looking forward to Hansen Wholesale Ceiling Fans decorating our home with style.

a nice hot day

 Image via: www.profile-graphics.net

Joy and I brought our kids to the kiddie pool for more than an hour. Boy, it was so hot! I really can’t stand the heat here. It makes me so tired and dizzy but at least the kids had fun splashing in the one-foot deep pool. They don’t want to get out of it but we really had to go since we still had to do a lot of errands.

Gee, I really have to get on with my laundry today so I can attend one important task that hubby and I have to get going soonest. My oh my, we really are running out of time! I hope and pray that we can get all things done without hitches. If there is, hopefully it would be manageable.

How’s your Monday so far guys? What have you been up to? I truly hope that all’s well from your end. You all have a great day everyone!

all about our young musician

My husband said when they were kids, himself and his brother and sister used to play piano. They all took lessons for about 3 years. I asked him the other day if he remember anything about his lessons and he said that he had forgotten most of it. He did say he wished he still knew because he really likes it and still enjoys the piano as a musical instrument. We notice that our daughter seems to really like the little play piano and that she should take piano lessons when she is old enough.

Our daughter is always running around singing and playing on her toy piano. Hubby was thinking that we should get her a real piano soon, and we will look for a place to get some free sheet music for her. When we send her for lessons we hope to find a teacher that will teach her to read music as soon as possible. When she comes home and is good enough to play, we will have extra music for her to use here also. With God’s blessings, who knows she will become the best musician in the future, right? For now, we will continue to encourage her in that direction and if she really likes it, we will see what happens.

fun with friends today

 Image via: www.profile-graphics.net

What a day we had! We went to Colorado Springs to help the Montoya’s get a wood stove that they bought in that area. Boy, it rained so hard with all the lightning and thunder during our drive there. You can barely see the road because of the heavy rains. Thanks to God, we made it safe and sound there.

When we got there, the guys (hubby and Dave) went to get to wood stove and placed it in the trailer at the back of our Tahoe, while the girls just stayed inside the car. But when the owner of the house took out their horse, Tess, Ashley and Kate had to go out to pet Lori the horse. I didn’t go out because I have allergies with horses. I don’t know why, but when I get near them, I will have itchy eyes and my face will swell like a balloon. Yeah, that’s sad!

Anyways, after we got the stove we went to a Filipino Restaurant in Colorado Springs for late lunch but they were closed. Good thing that we saw this Chinese Buffet, our lunch turned out so good. My, we were impressed with that eating place. It was so nice and they have over a hundred items to choose, imagine that! All in all, we had a wonderful day today. Thanks to our friends for the fun and thanks to God for the day.

double glazed your windows and doors

We watch those TV home improvement shows all the time. We are always interested in quality doors and windows for our home. We found that there is a place that makes really good looking and quality windows and doors. At Northern Scotland Joinery, we found a great taste of England style in double glazed windows and doors. When we build a new home in the future and even for our home we have now, I know my husband would really like to use these products to not only save energy in our home but also to give our home a great modern look. I can't wait until we can add these new doors and windows to our home.

The Fourth of July

Independence Day is more commonly referred to by the phrase “Fourth of July” and is sometimes called “The Glorious Fourth” or “The Fourth.”

In the United States, Independence Day is a federal holiday commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britian. Independence Day is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games, political speeches and ceremonies, and various other public and private events celebrating the history, government, and traditions of the United States. Independence Day is the national day of the United States. (Source: Wikipedia)

For us here, we will have some barbecue with friends. I already marinated (Filipino style) pork chops and chicken thighs since yesterday. I bet they will taste so good. We are also planning to make some pasta salad, cucumber salad, corn on the cob, chips and dip; and I know that the Montoya’s will also bring a lot of food. My oh my, we will be grazing the whole day for sure.

Anyways, I really wish everyone a happy and a safe Fourth of July weekend. Have fun!

becoming debt free

Need to get out from all those high interest rate credit cards? We found a great web site that helps you learn how to get your debt under control. You will learn a lot from its articles that educate to articles about other experiences on how they got out of debt. With debt consolidation done the right way, anyone can get those high interest credit cards paid off; and save money taking care of the money they owe. We truly need debt consolidation because we want to be free from debts, and this web site is really a huge help to us. The articles that we read there have given us a lot of the much needed information so we can get out of debt the right way. We really looking forward to being free and clear from our bills.

what's cooking for breakfast?

We are thinking of going to Village Inn for breakfast this morning. But we opted to make our own here at home. At this moment, I am making fried potatoes while blogging, of course; and hubby is cooking up some sausage links, bacon and eggs. Then, we will have orange juice, milk, soda or water to go with our food. Mm, mm, mm! For sure, it’s going to be a lovely breakfast! How about you? What’s cooking for breakfast?

safe foot wear for the workplace

My husband’s shoes from his work have to stay at work because they smell so greasy all the time. In fact he wears them out so fast we always have to buy new ones. What he needs is a good pair of work boots that will not fall apart so quickly. I think he is due to buy a pair of Timberland Boots. With a quality water proof and safe pair of boots from copshoes.com, we can count of my husband staying safe in the work place. Check out the website for they are also carrying Timberland Pro Valor and Timberland Force Multiplier series of boots. With these high quality Timberland Boots, we can count on them lasting, saving us a lot of money in the long run. I’m looking forward to see my husband in a nice new pair of boots very soon.

have a beautiful 4th of july!

Happy 4th of July everyone!

Good morning all! Hubby and I are up so early and just watching some of our recorded shows on TV. We can’t help but laughed at the show we are watching. Gee, I am just waiting for my coffee here so my brain can function.

What is your plan for today? How are you going to celebrate this special day? I hope all of us will have an enjoyable one with our family and friends. Just be safe, okay?

nighty night all!

 Image via: www.profile-graphics.net

Thanks God, we got home safe and sound. We actually got here around 9:00 PM. We had to swing by Target Pharmacy for my bug’s medicines. My hubby and my little are already in the dream land. We are all dog tired but I am still here. I will just post this and will be following them to the dream world pretty soon.

Tomorrow will be another busy day for me. I have to do a lot of house chores that I have been neglecting to do the past couple of days. We were just so busy running errands, doctor’s appointments and all. Hopefully, I can do them all tomorrow especially that we have friends coming over for the 4th of July. Gee, a lot of stuff to do and it feels like I am always running out of time.

Well, I will just have to worry about chores tomorrow. For now, I need to sleep. I wish you all a wonderful night. See you all tomorrow!

bugging mosquitoes no more!

We like our home in Kremmling but there is one thing that we don’t and it is the fact that during summer time, there are a lot of mosquitoes. Big ones, too that you should be scared for they can carry you off! This fact limit us to have fun outside like having barbecue with friends enjoying the nice weather and viewing the beautiful Gore Canyon in our front yard.

Well, this problem is considered “solved” with mosquito traps which I have found at mosquitomagnet.com. What a brilliant idea, right? Indeed, this technological breakthrough would enable us and the whole family to have fun and enjoy summer outdoors. I am pretty sure our friends will really be glad to know about this innovation.

lovin' blogging life!

 Image via: www.profile-graphics.net

We are still here in Kremmling. It had rained for hours but now Mr. Sunshine is back! Hubby had to go to see his friend, Dan before we will be on our way to Denver. My Katiebug tags along with him of course. She is a daddy’s girl alright! That is for sure!

So, here I am doing some posts here. I am using hubby’s notebook here in our kitchen island without a chair. I have been standing for 4 hours straight and my feet and legs are hurting right now. Gee, but I don’t mind because I love the blogging world. Not only that I am doing what I love but I am also earning a little bit. How cool is that! What makes it more beautiful is that my hubby is supporting me whole heartedly in this feat. I am just so blessed. Thank you, Lord for everything!

you are special...

I remember that as I was growing up, our family was into Seiko watches. If you have one that means you are so special. I remember that when I graduated my elementary, my parents gave me a Seiko watch as a graduation gift. It looked like the picture above. I was so happy about it and felt that I was truly special. I had worn that special gift for how many years. I know for a fact that Seiko watches are really tough and will last a long, long time.

I have been thinking that when my little girl knows how to read clocks, I will get a Seiko watch for her. I know that it won’t be long and she will be able to tell the correct time. I am pretty sure that I can find a cute but sturdy one which will be perfect for her dainty wrist. I really can’t wait for that exquisite moment. I wish I could get a watch right now for her 4th birthday which will be in three weeks but she is still too little to handle such an exquisite thing.

Well, how about getting one for myself? Hmmm, let me tell hubby about it. Maybe he can get me one as an advance Christmas present? What do you think, guys?

the color purple friend

This post is for a friend who loves violets and purples. You know who you are! From clutches to purses to shoes to clothes to all your amethyst jewelries, who wouldn’t think that you simply adore PURPLE? This girl is I don’t know if she can live without purple. She might wear or use other colors but you could always see one thing in her which is purple, of course. Oh girl, I miss you and our time together. Hopefully, we can spend time together pretty soon so I can have glimpses of your purple things again!

Here's to you...

Violet hues suggest something unusual and superior. Associated with high spirituality, violet can also convey somberness or solemnity, and may be interpreted as either uplifting or depressing. Good for prayer and meditation, the color has an otherworldly character. It's not generally a good color choice for walls, since large expanses disturb the eyes' ability to focus. Wear violet and you'll project unconventionality, nonconformity, and creativity. The color stands out in a crowd and may be associated with acute perception and deep insight.

chic maternity clothes

I have a beautiful pregnant friend who is due either the last week of this month or the first week of August. We just can’t help but get excited for her since this is her first baby and I know that she and her husband have been praying for this baby. She might be pregnant but I tell you, that didn’t stop her from being so fashionable. I bet she got all her maternity clothes from Kiki’s Fashions Maternity since they really look so good on her. Her maternity clothes are just so adorable just like the picture above and she looks good in them.
Looking at her sometimes in her trendy and chic maternity clothes, makes me wish to become pregnant again. But NO, no more pregnancy for me and hubby due to health reasons! Well to you my dear friend, I wish you all the best especially during the delivery of your baby boy in this world. I am sure he is one lucky guy to have you as his Mommy.

busy day for us...

We just got back here in our house in Kremmling from the dumpsite. Gee, it was smelly up there, ewww! We dumped our old grill, some old tires and icky trash. Hubby was able to renew the plates of our trailer while we were there, too. My parents-in-law are here with us now for hubby has to give away some stuff especially tools to Dad.

My little girl is down for her nap right now. It’s so funny because I just lay down her blanket on the floor for her bed and she seems to be liking it since she is now sleeping good. I really hope she will nap longer since she was up so early today. Wow, it’s pouring hard here with all the lightning and thunder. Hubby and Dad are still out clearing the garage. Hopefully, they will get done soon so we can be on our way to Denver pretty soon.

let's go swimming!

We all like to swim and our daughter is always asking to go to the pool every night. Even when she is only 3 years old and doesn’t really know how to swim, she always is the first one to the door with her swim suit on. We always thought how cool it would be when we have a home to have a swimming pool. What would even be better is if we had a swim spa. They are making these pools these days that are a lot smaller but they have jets in them for aquatic therapy. You can swim in one place and get the full benefits of a larger pool.

There are many benefits, we discovered, to having a rehab pool. My hubby has always said that he has back and shoulder pain from his work. Swimming is a great exercise and good therapy and these pools are especially made for helping with healing and exercise. There are many older people who are now discovering that with aquatic therapy, their healing time is much quicker; and when they have one of these pools in their home, the exercise is one of the things that can help keep them fit.

What a great idea to have a pool that can fit in part of your home such as a recreation room. I hope that we will have one in the future as an opportunity to get better exercise for both me and my hubby. We know our daughter would love one too. Who knows, she might discover that she wants to really be a swimmer and she would have the opportunity to practice right at home. It might be a dream for us right now but I can really see us owning one in the future.
