I am a water person and my hubby is getting to be that way, too. He used to drink lots of soda all the time but when we got married, he started to drink water more. I always encourage him to water up especially in his tough job. As for me, I just can’t live without water. Even if I have soda after meal, I still have to drink two big glasses after it.
However, what is really the best time to drink water?
- First thing in the morning, have at least 12 ounces of water for energy. Your body loses water stores overnight, which can make your mind foggy. Starting your day water might keep you from seeking out coffee or caffeinated tea, or help you cut back.
- Thirty minutes before meals, have another 12 ounces to help you control eating more. Whenever you’re feeling a craving, drink water first.
- Throughout the day, drink lots for a higher metabolism. A German study found that drinking 50 ounces of cold water can help you burn up to an extra 50 calories per day – that 5 pounds per year – without exercising. Experts think the metabolism boost is due to the extra effort needed to raise the water’s temperature to 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit.
So, drink water and hydrate to give your energy and your metabolism a boost!
